I heard VOA Amharic short interview of Abebe Gellaw with Ato Solomon Kifle today regarding Abebe Gellaw’s call for “Freedom for Ethiopia” when Obama was on his fundraising trip at San Francisco last week.Abebe Gellaw used his talent, time and money
Two years ago at Washington D.C Obama hosted “Food Security” summit Abebe denounced the late Meles Zenawi as the enemy of human rights. Most foreign Medias including VOA did not cover that encounter.
The Ethiopian people learnt about it through ESAT Radio and Television. This time the major foreign Medias including BBC covered the “heckler” Abebe Gellaw who is the Diaspora Ambassador of Ethiopia loved and respected by millions.
Ato Solomon unfairly raised a question of personal fame or ego as a driving factor for Abebe’s actions as claimed by very few. This, however, is the view of those who are exposed by his heroic deeds and the question should have been raised by them.
Ambassador Abebe Gellaw used his talent, time and money in the right place and right time hardly done by an average person. His courage is very exemplary and should be commended.
Thank You Ambassador Abebe Gellaw for your advocacy on behalf of more than ninety million people. We love you!
